Yugoslavian opposition expecting of USA support

Just to find support of Washington in Yugoslavian regions are protests of the opposition heard. Yesterday a fierce occurred between the protestors and the police during the meeting in Valjevo that was organized by so-called ‘Citizen Resistance of Valjevo’. Protestors tried to broke into the Municipality Council building where they clashed with police.

In Serbia is one organization called ‘ the Union for Changes’ acting against authorities, with leader Zoran Gingic well known as the chairman of the Democratic Party. The Union has already lead some meetings in Cacak, Novi- Sad, Lescovaz, Prokupl. The same action is going to be in Yagodin.

Meanwhile is known that neither Gingic, nor Vuk Draskovic have support of Washington. So, the newspaper ‘New- York Times ‘informs that the State Department of the USA is disappointed in these leaders of Yugoslavian opposition. So, ‘ one representative said that the administration kicked out Vuk Draskovic as an opportunist and leader of street disturbances of 1996 year, he was included in the government of Slobodan Milosevic, and now again has left it. The other leader of that period was Zoran Gingic, who was hidden in the oppose side in Chernogoria during the war in Kosovo, also is respected by Washington. But according to the words of representatives of the administration he hasn’t necessary skills of leader to ‘untwist’ movement.

Nevertheless the opposition pushes Serbs to disturbances when the most important question is the unity of nation. Who will win? We think the answer is quite clear.
